Edmonton doctors have confirmed that Jeff Toews is brain dead, while his family maintains he was the victim of a savage beating at a Mexican resort.

Toews, 34, of Grande Prairie, Alta., was found grievously injured at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Cancun early Monday.

Uh...hey remember that couple that were killed down there some time ago?
Rodriguez y Carrillo, who has also overseen the controversial case of a Canadian couple murdered at a Mexican resort last year, told The Globe and Mail in an interview that Toews had cocaine in his blood stream.

Neither a hospital spokeswoman nor Emilio Goicoechea, Mexico's ambassador to Canada, could confirm this.

"The Attorney-General says he had taken cocaine, but we are still waiting for the toxicological study to be released, so this is not proven," Goicoechea told The Globe.
Uh..so...the toxicology report hasn't come out, so the AG knows this how? Was he supplying Toews with drugs? I wouldn't put it passed him, considering the antics of Mexico's other AG's involved with the Canadian cases.
