TRIPOLI, Lebanon (AP) — Two people were killed today in a gun battle between members of the clan of U.S. marine Wassef Ali Hassoun and people who taunted as being American collaborators, Lebanese security and hospital officials said.

The shooting took place in a separate part of this northern Lebanese city to the district where the family of Cpl. Hassoun lives.

The casualties were not members of the Hassoun clan, which numbers over 1,000 people, officials said, speaking on customary condition of anonymity
