Guite is guilt-te
"And I'm paranoid at the things I say
Wondering' what's the penalty from day to day
I'm hanging' out, partying with girls that never die
See I was picking' on the small fries, my campaign telling lies"
--------ODB, ghetto superstar
word on the canadian press street says that our man without the plan, chuck guite is in the hands of the R!C!M!P!. that's right, the man who only answers 1 out 5 questions, has been arrested in relation to the sponsorship file.
perfect timing. anyone care to call an election? thanks. go ahead. i can't wait to hear what the police are going to say about this one. i can't wait until guite has to answer to real lawyers rather than an inept parliamentry committee. you hit em high.
RCMP arrest two in connection with sponsorship scandal
CP/Canada.com
The RCMP confirmed Monday that six counts of indictment for fraud and conspiracy by fraudulent means have been laid against Charles Guité, former Public Works and Government Services Canada official, and Jean Brault, President of Groupaction Marketing.
Both men are facing six counts of indictment for fraud totalling $1,967,000.
These charges have been laid within the scope of a far-reaching investigation of irregularities in the Government of Canada's Sponsorship Program.
The charges laid in this case deal more specifically with three contracts related to the visibility program of the Government of Canada that have been identified as questionable and reported to the RCMP by the Auditor General of Canada.
These contracts were awarded to Groupaction, a Montreal-based communications agency, by PWGSC between 1996 and 1999. The contracts were in the amount of $500,000, $550,000 and $575,000 respectively.
