NDP VS BC Liberals: Throw yo set in the air.

Tell mama that ya won't be comin home anytime soon
Cause I got ya under my thumb

Betta be the same set I'm claimin
---------Cypress Hll, Throw yo set in the air
I was watching a debate last night (i couldn't sleep) between the ndp and the liberals in the bc legislature. it was okay. basically, macphail and kwan were doing all they could to hold the bc government's feet in the fire about one of the mla's (can't remember which one...the guy for chilliwack) getting emergency medical treatment at a private clinic. it was intriguing because basically what macphail was doing trying to get colin hansen to admit that if the govt did not pay for the treatment at a private facility, it would be in breach of the canada health act.
which lead to the implied accusation that the bc and federal liberals were in fact in league with each other to destroy the health care system! personally i think this stuff is great. we only have two opposition members and they are the ones who are all over the bc govt. hansen looked like he was about to start crying he was so out of place. what is it going to be like when ndp have some more members.
he was not able to handle the heckling of the two ndp members. what will he be like when there are 30 or so?
then i got to thinking that this is a good sign. when all bc can argue about in the legislature is minutae...and then it occured to me that in iraq they are planning the formation of a new state, with new laws, charters, rights, a constitution and policies. they are so new...i hope someday, they can nail down all the important stuff in their legislatures so that one day their children can be bored stiff by parliamentarians arguing over the small stuff.
right now, they have a long way to go.....
although, it could be argued that the bc govt and opposition really do have some important issues to discuss, and are screwing around with our taxpayer money. actually, i like that interpretation a litte better than my first one.
