WMD's and Weapons of Mass Politicking
The most obvious problem right now for the democrats in the US is that they are trying to make a point that the war that deposed an montrous tyrant and potential world threat was wrong and based on a lie. The lie being that Saddam was a threat and that there are no WMD's to be found.

As the opposition party, it is in the best interests of their party and the state at large that there be questions raised. The war was at least officially partially based on the existence of WMD's. So...where are they?-->the question of the day...which brings us to this quote from Novak today:

In January, Hans Blix said that, among other things, 8,500 liters of anthrax were unaccounted for. How much space do 8,500 liters occupy? That's about 45 drums — the size of oil drums — probably spread out in several different hiding places.

Personally, I think there is a rush by the democrats to paint this as a scandal. I do not believe it will ever be a scandal, although I would be more inclined to wait a year to see what turns up before running around screaming "Lies!! all earthling Lies!!". If there was an intelligence breakdown, let it be investigated. If there was "encouragement" of the CIA to see the threat as large, let it be known. Currently, a senate house committee is being set up to investigate...so they should....But let's get to the bottom of this soberly, and not in the intention of painting everyone involved as a liar.

You notice that the other countries (Germany, in particular) are in no rush to condemn the US. Why? Because Germany was found to have sold Iraq chemicals (and arms, and technology, and etc...) that were specifically for warfare....they probably know that the WMD's exist, but that they won't find them immediately. It might be a little embarrassing for France/Germany to say: There! they never existed!...only to have the US find them and then reveal that those countries helped make those weapons. I hope it doesn't work out that way.

Also, if you check the NRO article by Novak, it goes on to show that:
1. The WMD's Exist.
2. The NY Times already reported the WMD's found
3. Iraqi people are sick from the WMD's found.
