They Got 6 of Us

Crappy:
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — Six Canadian soldiers died Easter Sunday in southern Afghanistan in the worst attack on Canadian soldiers since Canada joined the conflict there.

The soldiers died and four others were wounded when the vehicle they were riding in came into contact with an explosive device.

"At this stage the investigation is very, very nascent. We are only just beginning to gain information from it right now," Col. Mike Cessford told reporters at Kandahar Airfield. "It is premature at this stage to speculate what it was…but it is our belief that it was an improved improvised explosive device."

I was going to write that I hope that no one would make some sort of cheap political point about this while the bodies were still warm, but apparently one usual suspect decided to jump the dead men in one reactionary posting:
This morning my first reaction to this news was to get on a place[sic], fly to Ottawa, and throw history books at General Hillier, Mr. O’Connor, and the Prime Minister.

What an idiot.

Matt, you may recall is a bit of a name-dropping wanker with very little credibility in his criticisms...Just a foreign policy for dummies simplicity coupled with blind anti-Americanism making for a what amounts to rampant bigotry dressed up as intellectual discourse.

Now we can add shameless opportunist to his list of personal qualities.
