Koizumi: This Is For the People of the Rising Sun

Japanese PM Junichiro Koizumi only took the position of Prime Minister in 2001, but in name only.

Now he has cleared out the LDP deadwood and has a brand new mandate for radical reform.

You've heard it on the radio/You've seen it on the tv show: Japan is back on the map.

Here's the man himself speakin' on it:
"I feel as if I have destroyed the old LDP and that a new party has emerged. I had hoped that we would win a majority with our party alone, but we did even better than that. I thank the nation for its support and understanding."

Whoa, "I have destroyed the LDP"? Killer.

It's go time, or as they say in Nihhonland: Ikimasho, mofo, ikimasho.

Koizumi's Japan will slowly and painfully get closer and closer to Bush's America.
Imperialism is Globalism?
They will show their people the second stage. Join the Major Leagues of imperialism if you want to be free.

Anon:

You know I worry about his visits to Yasukini and Japan's general problem with facing up to its war crimes, etc...but....

Strictly from an economic viewpoint, don't you think it's a good thing that Koizumi will have a free hand to reform the Japanese financial systems?

PS: Is that "Imperialism is Globalism" quote attributed to Koizumi?
