I seek to cure what's inside
Troubled by this thing that I've become
--Toto
Turns out I'm more than a little sick: I've come down with bronchitis. I'm thinking that as long as I'm in Asia, as long as I don't get the Bird Flu I'm doing okay.
I'm still watching the diplomatic dance in Cedarland closely. I'm beginning to have a problem with the poor reasoning of some of the writers of the IHT, a finely written paper- but its NY Times op/ed content is pretty marginal. I like reading dissenting opinions, but they have been fronting some pretty weak arguments about why Syria should stand firm in Lebanon.

I sometimes work in Tomio, outside of Nara, and for some reason every time I stop there (it's pretty non-descript) I think of Toto's 'Africa' which is pretty odd. Anyways, I've subsequently been obsessing over this song for whatever reason, so using a time honoured tradition of ridding music from my thoughts, I've decided to fully embrace my Toto problem head on. I've downloaded it for continual play, I'm learning all the music on guitar, all the words, and all the little song references.
The problem should be solved in a week.

For now, I'm going to spend some quality time in the claustrophobia inducing apartment I call home.

I suppose there are worse songs to get lodged in one's mind.
Except for the reference to "rises like a tigress above the Serengeti...". Ain't many tigers in Africa.
Yeah, you're right. When I was 12 I had 'Ice Ice Baby' on the mind for about a year. Yikes.
