Weird Moment in Japan #4567
Yesterday, I was watching the hottest Japanese TV show-SMAP SMAP- featuring the members of the hugely popular J-Pop band, (you guessed it!) SMAP. All was going well with the show until a commercial began with a sweating and grimacing woman sitting on the can. (No, it does get worse).
The next thing I know, there is a shot of huge anthropomorphic, uh, "feces-man", walking down a hall towards her with a box of something. There are a few shots of the woman and the 'man', until finally he gives her the box. It was some constipation medicine. Sick? Just a little.
But wait! It gets better!
The next thing you know, there is a close up of the "smiling-man-feces-thing" with the box. Very classy. Topping that extra classy bit, was a shot of the woman's face right at the end of the commercial going from what I'd call 'extreme discomfort' to 'surprised relief'.
I was not-so-surprisingly relieved when the commercial ended, given my own extreme discomfort watching the feces-man.

Awesome. I'm sure it was even more horrifying if you can't understand what the actors are saying to each other.
So was the feces-man like a cartoon, or more like a big, rubbery Jabba the Hutt?
Horrified? Yes. But I'm glad I understood very little of what was said.
If I had to compare feces man to something, it would a brown 'Michelin man' with an imperial storm troopers head....
