Montreal — Government officials who labelled Montrealer Adil Charkaoui a terror suspect nevertheless allowed him to be released last night without the tracking bracelet that was part of his bail conditions.
Unable to find one of the electronic devices, federal lawyers yesterday authorized him to leave the detention centre to hugs and tears from of relatives shoe-horned into a honking van.
