Gomery Critics: Selective Fiscal Conservatives
Rockin my peers and puttin suckas in fear
--LL Cool J

There seems to be a lot of grandstanding by members of the media and Chretienites about the cost of the Gomery Commission in regard to the 'cost' of the commission itself.

This is the sideshow.

It is a Plan 'B' after Plan 'A' failed: The direct attack on Gomery himself.

The problem with this Plan 'B', as anyone with even a slight knowledge of the critics will tell you, is that these illusionists have no credibility as fiscal conservatives. Their constant belly aching about cost doesn't jive, as cost never bothered them when they defended Chretien's slush funds (oh, under the guise of protecting unity, of course)or his pork barrel politics.. What about the vote-buying of 101 Liberal Dalmations? What about his hideous fountain in Shawinigan?

Or the gun registry?

Or HRDC?

I consider myself a fiscal conservative, and I have no time for such BS. Every dollar used to uncover the misappropriation of government funds is worth ten down the line in preventing the misuse of da cash. It shows politicians and bureaucrats alike that Canadians aren't going to stand for blowing our money on self serving kickback operations with campaign contributors...or campaigners.

It also shows that Chretien's repuation isn't going to last when the **** hits the fan:
A senior Liberal organizer who complained to Alfonso Gagliano and Jean Pelletier that he had not been paid for his work on the 1997 election campaign went on to receive millions of dollars from the sponsorship program, the Gomery inquiry heard yesterday.

Jacques Corriveau is well known within the Liberal Party for his close ties to Jean Chrétien, having played a major role in the former prime minister's leadership campaign in 1990.

...Little man. Give us our money back. Beotch.
You have 24 hours to give us our money, and to show you we're serious, you have 12 hours
