But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
And now you see the light,
You stand up for your rights. Jah!

Lebanon Opposition Vows to Defy Protest Ban
By Lucy Fielder
BEIRUT (Reuters) - Lebanon's Syrian-backed government banned protests planned for Monday but a leading opposition figure vowed demonstrations would go ahead regardless over the assassination of the country's former prime minister.
And how about this action?
Give up killers, people's protest tells IRA

Family of murdered man turn on ex-Sinn Fein Mayor asking for the IRA to reveal 12 suspects to police
CALLS for the IRA to hand over 12 members accused of participating in the murder of a 33-year-old Catholic man were made yesterday when his family held a rally in the heart of a republican stronghold.
The demonstration was organised by the family of Robert McCartney to show that they were not afraid of the IRA, relatives said, and was further evidence that the iron grip of the paramilitaries was being challenged in their heartlands by ordinary people.

Groups Hail Political Reform in Egypt
Reformists, Opposition Groups Hail Promise of Multi-Candidate Elections in Egypt As 'New Era'
CAIRO, Egypt Feb 27, 2005 — A presidential promise of multi-candidate elections considered unthinkable for decades was exciting reformists and opposition groups who hailed it as a "new era." But many predicted Sunday it won't lead to substantive change without further constitutional revisions and a loosening of the ruling party's chokehold on all routes to power.
The jokers who oppose democracy because the US or president Bush are pushing the liberty agenda, are still going to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Yeah, it's all coincidence that all over the middle east (and Belfast!?)people are pushing for an end of tyranny. Egypt, the PA, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Kuwait are all making significant steps towards becoming real democracies. Those heavily resisting (Iran and Syria) have joined a coalition of the doomed.
That the march of freedom is stopping in Belfast is no surprise. In some quarters of the Sinn Fein and the republican/nationalist West Belfast, there are murals (stupidly) depicting the struggle of the Palestinians as the same as the struggle of the Irish Catholics. Well, even the Palestinians are (apparently) shedding their old skin. Where does that leave the Irish?
I'm hoping that right after the IRA is KO'd, they take on the awful Protestant Paramilitaries. If ever there was a modern movement that employed violent fascism, it would be these jackasses: The UDA, UFF, UVF- Psycho killers with not a trace of empathy nor tolerance. See the Shankhill Butchers, circa 1970's. Yikes.
