The Fears and Loathing of Klapp
Just get a grip on yourself

Suffering convictions on a two-way stretch inside
The air in here is pretty thin, I think I'll go outside
Committed for insanity and crimes against the soul
The worst crime that I ever did was play some rock 'n roll
--The Stranglers

The general has lost grip on reality this morning. He goes off about how the US is fearful and that this fear is the reason they elected Bush. He says he sped back to Canada on September 1st because he infers he was afraid of how the US might react to the Belsen massacre.

Here's a quote:
Fear, uncertainty, anger, isolation: those aren't the things George W. Bush has tried to change. Those are the things that he has used to get himself re-elected.

So we got in the car and drove North, fast.

Now just to recap
for those in the back
.......it seems Klapp doesn't realize who is ruled by fear and loathing. It's the guy in the mirror. When your actions are ruled by a paranoid and unreasonable fear, it is you who have the problem, mmkay? You drove back to Canada because Russia was struck by terrorists?...And you were afraid of what the Americans would do...to you? You aren't afraid of terrorists, obviously, just the guys who attack them. (Who's side are you on, again?)

You aren't afraid of free speech, either, just afraid of the guys who use it.

And outrageous contracts to Quebec ad firms? Fear of...of....seperation?
