Jane's Says
Jane's always has something interesting to say..Here's their take on the Britain's post election relationship with the US if Kerry wins:
If John Kerry wins, the situation may get trickier for Blair. First, there will be an assumption that the politicians who pushed for war in Iraq are to be punished by the electorate. Second, the British media will start speculating about the state of the relationship between London and the new US President. But Blair is already prepared for limiting any damage. His officials will brief the media that Bush's electoral defeat had nothing to do with the war. They will point out that John Howard, the Australian Prime Minister, had triumphed in a recent election despite the fact that he also supported the Iraq war. Meanwhile, Blair will try to arrange a swift meeting with Kerry to indicate that the US-UK relationship is as valid as ever. Bill Clinton, who was always close to Blair and has retained a great interest in Britain, will be asked to act as a go-between with the newly elected US president. The first few weeks after the US elections may be uncomfortable for Blair, but not too much. That is the belief in London. There is a simple reason for this: the moment he gets elected, Kerry will have to support the current policy in Iraq and Britain's 7,000-odd military presence there gives London an enduring leverage

We really don't get enough of this kind of analysis in the media.
