The libs have been playing this country way, way, way too close. Time to get angry. Chretien was responsible...no he wasn't...they knew, now they didn't...martin didn't know about it till last year, but now its obvious the whole caucus knew by at least 1999.

OTTAWA—Jean Chrétien's office played a guiding role in the political direction of the sponsorship program, a lawyer for the former prime minister's top aide has told the Gomery inquiry.

Jean Pelletier, the former prime minister's chief of staff, regularly asserted his "political judgment" to help determine which community and sports events in Quebec received federal money — and how much — under the $250 million initiative, lawyer Guy Pratte said.
