Annan deplores Bangladesh bombing
United Nations, Aug. 24 (PTI): Condemning the bombing of an Opposition rally in Bangladesh which killed 19 people, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, has deplored the use of violence against the civilian population.
Annan was "appalled" at the news of the grenade attack, which also injured many participants of the rally, his spokesman said in a statement yesterday. "He strongly condemns the use of violence against (the) civilian population and reiterates his call for the perpetrators of these acts to be brought to justice," the statement said.
At what will he do to bring the perps to justice? Nothing. As usual.
How appalled are you at the massacre in Dafur, the Congo, Rwanda...?..nevermind...
