Paul Martin: what past?

the problem with martin is that he is trying unsuccessfully to distance himself from chretien, stating that that regime is over. another time. all that's behind us now.

but if he doesn't have any baggage (as he would like us to believe) from that 'era' he was a part of, he can't really claim all the benefits of a track record from that time can he? he's stating he has a record of being a great money manager, but not of being in a corrupt government.

look at my record as finance minister, but disregard the multitudes of amoral, unscrupulous dealings in my old government.

no track record, no past, no reason to elect martin.
