Adbusters: anti semitic, still

While Karl Lasn tries to explain, evade direct eye contact with the readers or just plainly state that he was wrong about his blatantly anti-semitic tract, which drew upon ancient conspiracy theories, libels, and prejudice.....the readers respond to his stupidity with lucid intelligence:

Back in the 1970's a Hindu guru was touring the US, he said, "The Jews must be the most spiritual people on earth." When someone asked him why he said, "Everywhere I go many Jews show up to see me". What he meant was that Jews were disproportionately interested in this new yoga practice.

This anecdote serves to illustrate a point. Why are their so many Jewish neocons? Well, ask yourself why there are so many Jewish activists period? If you look into almost any "activist" organization you will find Jews in disproportionate numbers...why is this?

Jews have always been active in new ideas and changes for the betterment of society. It is part of the religion to repair the world. All you have to do is look and you will find countless names of Jewish women in the feminist movement, the war on poverty, the fight to help the women of Afghanistan, the socialist movements, the labor movements, the civil rights marches in the South...and alas the Ayn Rand libertarian neocons as well.

There are Jews in the neocon camp. I believe they are wrong. They embarrass me. Yet, I believe that THEY are acting (in their minds) in the same way that all of the other Jewish activist have acted throughout the years. They believe they are trying to change the world to be a better place. I may think they are nuts, but I understand that this pursuit of a better way, that is so ingrained in Jewish culture, is what led them to their philosophy.

This is what I would like everyone to understand. Behind every large social justice cause you WILL FIND a disproportionate number of Jews. I am sorry that these neocons are part of a wrong philosophical leaning. They are not typical in their beliefs, they are, however, typical in their activist mentality.

If you condemn the neocons as Jews then also condemn all of the Jews that have marched for noble causes, gave money to better someone's life, participated in protests, and were arrested at marches, or died trying to defend justice and good social causes. They are disproportionately represented in those ranks too. How about focusing on that before you focus on the Jews that are on the wrong side, but for the same reasons as your fellow brothers in arms.
