Stronach might run for the leadership. The calgary sun writes an oh-so-slightly patronizing/sexist article, scoffing about how belinda stronach (CEO of Magna International) might join in the leadership race.

She's the leader of massive, 12 billion dollar/year operation, and they talk about her being possibly intimidated by no personality harper? give it up. the other candidates should be worried about going up against someone who has done something other than talk about capitalism, but lives it.

that's the difference. real vs. abstract.

and when you get to be leader of a huge corporation, politics is a large part of your job.

let's get it together. more candidates, more ideas, more challenges...all good things. if it was harper v. mckay, this whole thing might go down the tube because people would die of boredom.

The Globe's Take on Stronach
One of the reasons i hate the eastern media, is because it is elitist bs with this idea that it actually matters. journalists have a low opinion for good reason. here's some of the text from an 'analysis' of stronach:

You've got to think the Arnie syndrome is in play here. Arnold Schwarzenegger went from unknown, unrich Austrian bodybuilder to mega-rich Hollywood phenomenon. All he lacked was political fame, which he got last year when he parlayed his box-office success into the governorship of California. The Stronachs, led by father Frank, also went from Austrian nobodies to wealthy international success stories.

Comparing arnie to belinda. pardon the language, but how fucking lazy do you have to be to make this comparison? arnie: famous hollywood actor who became rich. Stronach: low profile canadian business mogul, who was born into wealth.

but: their both from austria! perfect! lazy! stupid! analysis! they are not even close. but in the interest of shutting down the conservatives, you have to make these comparisons. the globe is male, eastern and centrist. (wente, klein and blatchford don't change that either). stronach might lead a western, right wing party.

i gaurantee that if she's in this race, she'll be compared to ann coulter by the end. the media is crap.
