Typical CBC crap: "The Americans think they're close"
Another smug, left wing jackass tells the patient canadian public what they dread and expect from the cbc.
The Tightening noose, the noose is tightened, its getting tighter.... tighter, noose, tighter!
How much tighter can this damn noose around husseins' neck get without him in it?
The Toronto Star of Baathists
Well, i guess baathists come in many shapes and forms. one of them being the "Star's editorial page editor emeritus"-- that kind of flashy, pretencious latin crap is usually reserved for actual academic stars, namely retired and distinguished professors.
and, Toronto Star editors. let the eye rolling commence...
this rant by HAROON SIDDIQUI has too many problems to begin with *yawn* so i'll just go over the closest one to the top...hey the first sentence fits the bill:
If deception and unilateralism characterized America's war on Iraq, then naïveté, incompetence and, increasingly, desperation mark its shaky occupation of that troubled land.
whoa, pulling out the big guns already eh? let's start at the beginning..the very beginning...
if deception..he's referring to the issue of bush saying the "the british have learned..." as repeated ad nauseum by everyone and their dog, the british did find that there were african nations trying to do a deal for nuke parts, technology, etc..however, one piece of evidence was found to have been doctored..in regards to Niger's Yellowcake sale, etc...
this was a true statement, but, yeah, the US probably should really vetted the information through the british a little more, eh? well geez... a little problem with editing is deception and lying, right?
Unilateralism: if having 20 nations contribute to the war is unilateralism......or was it going it alone without kissing russia's, france's or china's ass with money and general begging?....i'd say its a combo! obviously, the US is going to do wrong no matter what they do.
naïveté, incompetence and, increasingly, desperation mark its shaky occupation of that troubled land. hahahahahahhahahahaha......blahahhahahahhahhaah......no, no, i'm good...uuuuhhhahahahhahaha.
this is good stuff. the US is naive? because.....its not france? simplisme? hyperpuisse et simplisme, etc? give me a break. anyone who's even remotely aware of the amount PH.D firepower and experience in this administration knows naivete isn't a problem. where's the evidence of this though? are they not consulting the people? are they not respecting customs? is there any valid complaints from the iraqis besides the sunni baathists, al quaeda beyatches and Sadr (the one guy no one wanted on the general council?).
incompetence? i only see it in the hacks who sit in LA/NY/Toronto from little desks who won't have a positive thing to say if the US is involved. yes, the country is slow to rebuild. yes, it is because baathists are destroying pipelines, and plants, etc.....but yes, the US is making a positive impact.
desperation? really? outside the Sunni triangle, where are we really seeing attacks on the US? if it was desperate, why do you admit later in this article that there elections in this country already? what about the general council meeting with the UN?
if this was in the Le Monde Diplomatique, it would be common crap. we could just say "oh, the french". what the hell do you do when this kind of bs comes from your own continent? in a real...well....a mainstream newspaper?
