Thai'd Up

The game got a ***** exhausted
Gotta go for the big bargain they offered
Twenty years for what?
Breaking these laws that's so corrupt
Taking these halls and fillin 'em up
Some powder cake shit that's about to erupt

Every hood's the same
--Ice Cube

Part of the underlying reason Thai Rak Thai got tossed - an inability to quell the southern insurgency in Thailand:
Thai leaders to negotiate with Muslim separatists
Thailand's interim prime minister, Surayud Chulanont, is due to visit the country's troubled south to start negotiating with Muslim separatists.

He will be accompanied by General Sonthi Boonyaratglin, the man who led Thailand's September 19 coup.

General Sonthi is a Muslim and has extensive experience working in the area, where more than 1400 people have died in almost three years of unrest.

Thaksin was not able to deal effectively with the insurgency and his hardline efforts were only alienating the south. The King (far more popular than any politician) warned Thaksin. We'll see how it plays out. Pattani is a dangerous hood in south central asia.
