HMV To Boycott Alanis Morissette
Published: 2005-06-13This week, Canada’s largest music retailer HMV will remove the entire Alanis Morissette catalogue from their shelves. The music retailer is not happy with Morissette over the deal that her label, Maverick Records, struck with coffee company Starbucks. The deal calls for Morissette’s most recent release, an acoustic version of her 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, to be sold only in the company’s coffee outlets.
Isn't it ironic? Probably one of the biggest outlets for Canadian purchases of her "one big album" is ditching her on her second attempt to cash in on the same friggin' product.
I liked her better when she was less "angst" and more open about selling out....when she was a teen.
Never too hot
Never too cold
You gotta go for gold!

One can only hope there's a bonus track of "Too Hot" on the acoustic Jagged set. How sweet would that be?
Ha!
I can see it now....The intense passion on Alanis' face as she plays:
"You gotta go for gold and you'll make it baby
Gold! And when you're there you gotta
Throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
Reachin' teachin' practice what you're preachin'
Throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
Movin' provin' everything you're doin'"
Wow. Craptastic.
I remember her singing that song for the NHL awards one year back in the day.
It will be with me forever.
Ha! the NHL awards....
Maybe next year they can have Kim Mitchell have a battle of the bands against the old Alanis, old Snow, and Apache Indian.
Good times.
Apache Indian? killer pop culture reference
