Ever wonder why there is a market for Blogs? I don't.
While the MSM salivates over the 'performance' of Chretien, the blogosphere offers its own summary:
Whether you agree or disagree with the idea of a sponsorship program to combat Quebec separatism, this particular program was spectacularly mismanaged to huge partisan benefit. --Babbling Brooks
Chretien is a Bum -- Canadian Content
I must admit that Chretien did a good job of framing the need for the Sponsorship Campaign. However whether or not it is required is not the subject of the inquiry. Liberal government corruption is.--Canadian Staples
A former prime minister arrived at a public inquiry yesterday to help the public understand how a program he initiated had degenerated into such an orgy of patronage, sleaze, and kick-backs; and he responded with contempt and a crass partisanship--Rempalia
It's a sad attempt to recharacterize opposition to graft as opposition to a unified Canada: if you oppose the waste of unaccountably giving out millions of taxpayer dollars to politically-connected firms in exchange for absolutely nothing, then you are clearly a separatist. This sort of argument might dazzle the likes of Sheila Copps, but for the rest of us, it leaves something to be desired.--Let It Bleed
MSM is just about as herd-like and ridiculous as possible. If this were a Jimmy Carter showing up before a senate committee on corruption within his government, and he decides to make it a media circus with a bag full of golf balls, the entire right wing media establishment would have his hide.
Even the frickin' Post was falling for the dog and pony show.....What a joke.
