Tunnel Vision: IHT Op/Eds
Ahhh, the IHT is full of ridiculous notions these days. Nevermind the other BS commentary they post (ie: Dowd/Hebert et al), their editorials are superfun, too: Sinn Fein on the fence.
This latest offering says that IRA and Sinn Fein need to part ways, which is fine...it also implies that the IRA is unfortunately sponsoring terror, etc in the North and that bank robberies have been financing its operations for years and years. Also true and fair.
The problem is that the editorial (from Boston, no less) sees only a problem on the Catholic side of the ledger. You might want to consider a balanced approach to the Irish question, no?
Oh, its very easy to say "Well, the IRA Blah Blah frickin' Blah", but where are the cries of indignation at the ownership of the Northern counties under the thumb of the UFF and UVF--or their 'unofficial' dealings and linkage with the UDA/Loyalists/Unionists? What of the complete intolerance, subjugation, and gerrymandering that has politically repressed the Catholics and Protestants alike? What of the fact that m'n'f'ing Reverand Iain Paisley aka Mr. "Catholics are the Devil Incarnate" is leading the peace talks for the protestants?
Where's? Your? Head? At?
