Bush admits Iraq bombers' impact

Bush said Iraq was heading towards a democracy despite the bombs US President George W Bush has admitted that repeated car bomb attacks by insurgents in Iraq are having "an effect" on the situation.

Bombings and other guerrilla tactics were an "effective propaganda tool", Mr Bush told reporters in Washington.

He warned that Iraqi security forces were still not ready to keep order, and cited instances when some units have deserted during combat.

I'm not a PR genius, but it is probably not a good idea to tell the enemy what a good job they are doing....and what a crappy job the new Iraqi police are doing. That's just my amateur advice.
