Many young people have forsaken landlines and taken up simply having a cellphone. In the US, this amounts to a staggering figure of 49m or so young adults. This constituency has never been polled until now, with figures of around 55% Kerry to 40% Bush in this group are common. I'm actually surprised that Bush ranked that high amongst the youth.
I don't have one problem leaking exit polls, so here we go..this is from sully:
Kerry - Bush
AZ 45-55
CO 48-51
LA 42-57
MI 51-48
WI 52-48
PA 60-40
OH 52-48
FL 51-48
MICH 51-47
NM 50-48
MINN 58-40
WISC 52-43
IOWA 49-49
NH 57-41
Kos has the same figures. Not a good sign for Bush so far. Again, these are super early, but Hey! It's fun to speculate!
More good stuff:
Drudge links to the National Election Poll
Exit poll mania spread through media and campaign circles Tuesday afternoon after first wave of morning data showed Kerry competitive in key states.... National Election Pool -- representing six major news organization -- shows Kerry in striking distance -- with small lead -- in Florida and Ohio, sources tell DRUDGE... But early sample was based on a 59- 41 women to men ratio... MORE...
And as Sully pointed out, Steyn is ready to roll if he gets his prediction wrong on the election. Strange, he's gotten a tonne of stuff wrong in the last year and it hasn't really affected him. IE: "The insurgency will stop within 6 weeks if Saddam is captured". Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Steyn fan, but I think we have to take a big breather when we start saying something like "the US is going to concede america to the terrorists if Kerry wins" which is a load of crap. Take a deep breath and reconsider the rheotoric. Frum, NRO, et al, I'm looking in your direction.
Realclearpolitics has the latest as well....here's their poll wrap up.
Check out the electoral votes links at the top right of this page as well.
