Who has your back?

Some ain't got enough heart let me ask you this:
Would ya be down like a soldier?
--Cypress Hill

I'm taking aim again, but not at Bully WK (When its time to threaten/I will threaten hard!-Threaten hard!). This time I'm looking straight at the mainstream media (msm) bloggers who like to talk a good game about representing bloggers, but when the time came to squawk (when four bloggers were threatened with legal action) where were they? Nowhere to be found.

While Andrew Coyne goes on the cbc to defend bloggers against the mainstream media he says nothing when faced with a less public chance to defend them in the blogosphere against the real threat. When every Canadian political blog was blowing up about this problem, Coyne let it slide. Nothing. Like it didn't happen. This is especially disheartening since Coyne is in a unique position to defend bloggers because a) he is a blogger (and likes to align himself with bloggers), b) he is a mainstream journalist and c)he is a lawyer.

All he can talk about is the non-scandal of Belgium Waffles.

But he's not the only one responsible. Other Blogger/Journalists like Colby Cosh and Paul Wells were too concerned either with Don Martin mentioning them in non-articles that nobody cared about or whether or not Derek Jeter was scoring touchdowns in a baseball game (hilarious!) to give a rats' ass about bloggers being threatened.

The number one response will be (I know) that "I didn't defend myself", but again, I was doing so for over a month; It just didn't get any attention until Damian brought it up. This is a seperate issue, however.

These three journalists are closely aligned with the Canadian political blogosphere and had an opportunity to shine a light on this issue....when *it* hit the fan, where were they? They didn't show....and they still haven't. Their silence equals complicity.

Stop pretending to represent bloggers in the mainstream if you all you can do is *talk* rather than *act*.
If you're so hardcore
Why didn't you go to level 4?
(Oh, I know)
