Belmont Club Vs. Sullivan

I'm talkin about you and me
Toe to toe, Tim M-U-T
Your bark was loud, but your bite wasn't vicious
And them rhymes you were kickin were quite bootylicious
--Snoop

The Belmont Club takes Sully to task over his 'gloating' about Bremer's comment about the US not having enough troops on the ground...Sullivan responds in kind and decisively KO's da Club. (You can find me in....)

The reason? Bremer's excuse for his 'miscommunication' wasn't that the quote was 'out of context' (it wasn't) or that it was 'inaccurate' (again, it wasn't-from all accounts, anyway) but that 'it was not meant to be on-the-record'. Well, so what?

But the Belmont club says that he was only referring to the immediate, post war situation, but Bremer specifically says
"The single most important change - the one thing that would have improved the situation - would have been having more troops in Iraq at the beginning and throughout"

as Sullivan points out....whereas, Belmont refers to that quote *minus* the last two key words. Spin*10.

Let's be real here for a second: whether you back Bush or not, you can admit that historically speaking, the forces occupying Iraq are light in the ass. By Kosovo standards, (or 'fill-in-the-blank)they should weigh about about double their size, or so:
You're light in the ass son, you weigh bout a buck
But I'm one-ninety physique, two-hundred and thirty-fo'
pounds total when I'm carryin the heat
--Redman

...or, alternatively:

I'ma call you Theo, cause you weigh ninety-two point three pounds
--DJ Quik

Let me put this in perspective though: The US has the most deadly fighting force on earth, but rolling hard with only half the crew you need and a newly recruited army of poorly trained baathists is ridiculous. Like I've said before, I think after the election is when we will see some drastic new measures in regards to low troop counts and letting the sunni triangle get out of hand.
