Martin worker made phone call on sponsorship

The name of an employee of Prime Minister Paul Martin's constituency office who reportedly contacted the Public Works office in regard to a sponsorship contract is now known: Lucille Castelli.

The name was revealed Tuesday, hours after Conservative Leader Stephen Harper demanded in question period that Martin reveal the identity of the person who made the call from his office to then-Public Works minister Alfonso Gagliano.

"I'll tell you why I think the prime minister doesn't want to answer who made these calls," Harper accused. "I think the prime minister made these calls himself."

Martin didn't respond, insisting the Gomery inquiry looking into the sponsorship scandal would get the answers.
