Martin shrugs off suggestions of rebellion
WINNIPEG (CP) - Paul Martin dismissed talk of a rebellion within his Liberal caucus and noted Friday that he has always encouraged MPs who disagree with him to speak their minds.
The prime minister shrugged off attacks from high-profile Liberals against his health accord with the provinces, and also downplayed talk that other top Liberals plan to vote against his legislation. "The fact is we can count on Liberal support," said Martin, who was in Winnipeg to name David Butler-Jones head of the new Public Health Agency of Canada.
Did someone say 'liberal rebellion'? Reminds me of something from the not-so-distant past.
