If the Beeb reports it.....

Now I recall the bbc reporting during the Iraqi war that the US was 'bogged down' in the middle of the onslaught and was likely to lose. And then Andy Gilligan reported that of course the US had not even come close to Baghdad, when they had already swept through town and were securing the Baghdad airport.

So.

When the beeb finally gets around to reporting something positive about the good guys that they detest so much, I pray their bias against good news means its is credible when they are forced to report it:

Pressure grows on Shia militants

Shia militiamen are using the Imam Ali shrine as a refuge, US forces say

Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi has called on fighters loyal to radical cleric Moqtada Sadr in the holy city of Najaf to lay down their arms. Mr Allawi said the insurgents should leave the revered Imam Ali shrine where they are currently barricaded.

US-led forces have tightened their grip on Najaf after eight days of fighting with tank, infantry and helicopter assaults.

The area was reported to be relatively calm after nightfall.

Iran and the Arab League have condemned the hostilities.

Of course they do. They condemn the attacks on the few militants still fighting a losing battle against democracy. Of course.

How's that condemnation against the hostilities of millions of people in Dafur coming? Still in the "brainstorming" phase? How about you, Kofi? Any word on your front?
