VANCOUVER -- Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Vancouver's downtown core yesterday to mark May Day with a march in protest of the Liberal government of Premier Gordon Campbell. The protesters, including members of several major unions and their backers, were unanimous in their support for striking health-care support workers.

this thing has a life of its own now. i don't really understand the liberals' timing here. did they know that their announcement of the pay cut would coincide with may day? surely this could have been handled better.
