The Beheading

what can i add to this media firestorm concerning a poor young entrepreneur trying to eke out a living in iraq only to suffer a horrible death? the problem i see is that al-quaeda continues to make one strategic error after another. they cling to the belief that the US is like europe, or more specifically spain. they believe that infuriorating the enemy or slowly killing one or two americans here or there will make them leave the area. what the US has learned since 9/11 is that they aren't going to take that shit anymore. spain can back out, appease the tiny enemy and hide in its precarious penisula while the rest of the world fights the battle. but that's not the US. not since 9/11.

did the horrible deaths of daniel pearl, or the other contractors, or soldiers make the US want to leave? no, their deaths are now downpayment or some payback and an investment in the region. the US realizes the stakes of leaving the muslim world to be overrun by the islamists. even if the weak countries constituting the ummah are not able to see or able to act on this threat, the us sees and can act. and they will continue to do so. or so i hope.

its a nice touch for al-quaeda to claim that the death of the young man was in response to the prison abuse. what a load of shit....they hate the west anyways and would have killed him for some cooked up excuse. that was purely for the western media's propaganda purposes. and they ate it up hook, line and sinker.
