5 Terrorists Caught in Madrid Massacre

Five arrested

Security forces arrested three Moroccans and two Indians for questioning about the bombings in Madrid on Saturday.

The Spanish government said it was too early to link the suspects to Islamic militants. Police are still "investigating all avenues," Acebes said.

okay, so the fact that these guys are from out of town eludes the majority of the news reports.....not a mention of how important it is for two reasons

1) the spanish govt has been (and wants to keep) hammering eta big time. it wants to keep the heat on them until after sunday's election. if they come out and say "hey our policy of following the US really hurt us" they will do badly.

after the election, expect a revelation "oh, it was al-queda all along". queue gasp.

2) the press is squeemish about naming muslims as terrorists. their ideological (in the anti american sense) brothers are not prime targets for the press. they've already tried to say this is the work of the US.....i refer to neil "there's been a massacre in jenin" Macdonald the other night on the cbc..

what a joke...
