Conservative Merger Circus
well, i hope the overall outcome is good....here's the run down from google news about the conservative merger..

well that settles it. clear as day. they're 'chatting', going in 'opposite directions', 'at odds' or 'swamped', but not all at the same time...the left wing press, doing all it can to kill the right, talks about this merger as a vietnam or dare i say 'iraqi quagmire' its done for! no hope! why do they even try?!!! ...(sarcasm off)....
and yet these talks continue. regardless.
the conservatives and alliance know they are toast going up against the newly conservative liberal juggernaut (can i say juggernaut?) and realize the right is becoming just a tad crowded. so. they have to join up or die. they know this. the only question is how and to a lesser extent when.
Mckay, for his part is playing this negotiation with a very uneven temper, with seering dislike of the alliance and their 'albera ways'. and well he should. he's got david orchard and the rest of the red tories breathing down his neck saying that don't want any part of it. he's got to act accordingly like he is being coerced or that the negotiations aren't 'really' negotiations. damn those CA/albertan bastards!
Harper, playing the stronger hand has a whole party and region that started the party with the intention of joining back up w/ the conservatives. they just wanted a more conservative and democratic approach. by gaining 60 seats, a large regional base and authority the alliance has done just that. all of its efforts are culminating into one massive push for influence into the halls of parliament.
so the tories, playing the weaker, victimized party use all their scrappy, discontented approaches while the alliance calmly takes it all in stride and plays it cool, as well they should. a large grizzly, playing with its prey.
