Abbas is gone. For Now.
Now what?

Okay, so abbas is gone, the US won't deal with arafat. The israelis are now bombing and killing the Hamas leadership.

this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Hamas has been saying that it will attack israel so severely for killing its leaders, but none has come. gaza has been docile within their fence. now the fence hemming in the west bank might be doing its job, although it hasn't been constructed in jerusalem, but that will change.

israel has the mandate to attack hamas and hopefully non-PA targets now that arafat has been isolated and possibly shoved into exile. if arafat is exiled abbas could come back with full control of the security forces...with the possibility of disarming IJ, Hamas and al-asqa.

right now, palestinian terror groups are weak, israel is strong and arafat is about to be expelled. good stuff.
