Nine Eleven-->9/11 a short recollection.
I woke up on 9/11 in the morning and looked at the internet quickly to see what was new...i was starting a new job that day: a total coincidence..

what i found was most of the internet was down except for the drudge report which would only load the pictures of the burning towers with a caption stating "america under attack".

i had no idea how serious the attacks were, or really where they were to be honest, since i didn't really recognize the towers then..... i didn't even think it was a deliberate attack.

i took the bus to work listening to poor winos exclaiming to the bus driver that the twin towers in new york had fallen down. i immediately discounted this obvious bullshit story. winos are brutal story tellers, so i just winced at their stupidity and sat quietly. at work, my hr director met me out front saying "what a day to start, eh?". i laughed a little, not realizing exactly what the hell had gone on.

the next 5 hours was spent on my first day watching TV with my new coworkers watching the replays, and generally feeling shocked. we obviously couldn't work or learn that day. the next day was the same. we came in, watched services for the dead and prayed with the nation for the dead.

as badly as i felt for the americans, i was shocked that the hilary and others began to accuse canada of letting the hijackers come through our borders. this pissed me off to no end, as even today this assumption is made about my country and it is utterly untrue.

this is nothing though. the real thoughts about 9/11 were that this was a tragedy that needed to be rectified. bush did a great job, and i felt the same rage, the same realization and the same satisfaction the US did when the taliban was taken out, and afghanistan was rendered harmless to the west.

the war isn't over, and i hope the war on terror will continue until the fascists of the middle east are destroyed, with or without the bleeding hearts of europe, berkeley or canada....and not because its political, but because it is necessary.

peace be to the families of the dead.
