Another watershed of stupid ideas, revealed at MEMRI. An arab journalist attempts to make sense of the arab dictatorships:

Have the Arab peoples become addicted to a life that is like being thrown into the darkness of the dungeon? Have they become addicted to floggings with whip and lash, to the dissolving [of victims] in acid, to the blows on the back of the head, to humiliation and insult?"

really? i guess the eastern bloc germans were like that too, right? i mean they had an evil empire running their lives for a long time...i guess they must have liked it. same with china (never mind tianneman square), Russia, the entire eastern bloc, japan before WW2, etc.....that's it i suppose. people under dictatorships just love it! love it!
