Another one bites the dust
Boom! Here comes the boom! How you like that shit now?. Gotcha!

The US has captured the No. 4 of the Iraqi regime. The US military said that they caught him "in Iraq somewhere". Hmm, well, he was caught on the same day the US started raids in Tikrit, his name is Abid Hamid Mahmud al-Tikriti, indicating that he is from Tikrit, and they also note that they recovered some money and jewels from farmhouses from, surprise, Tikrit. Most of the regimes support is in Tikrit. Saddam has been reported to be moving around...Tikrit. The US has had lots of opposition in....Tikrit.

Is it say...possible, that since all of this news broke at the same time......er, its all from Tikrit? I don't know just a theory.

This is all intriguing. First, Saddam puts up little resistance and the fayadeen, the republican guard and Saddam melt into the iraqi countryside with billions of dollars, guns, ammo and time on their hands. Then the US finds that there is significant resistance in certain areas, looting, demonstrations, general chaos...and oh yes, no 'official' WMD's. Wonder who could be orchestrating these disasters that the anti-US media is picking up all over the world.

Also interesting: the US stated before they even got to Iraq and indeed after it arrived that its little foray into Iraq would be a short stay. Saddam, feeling the heat bows out with men, money and resources and leaves the limelight hoping to wait out the US so he can reassert himself at a later date after the US pulls out, Vietnam styles. Unless Saddam is captured or confirmed dead, there may not be a lot of hope for peace or the finding of 'official' WMD's. Would you confess, as a WMD scientist/chemist/official where the big guns are with the fayadeen, the rep guard and saddam all running around? I'd say no.

So, where is this rant going? It all means that the US has to:

1) Stick around for a while
2) Kill/capture Saddam (not like this isn't a priority already, I realize)
3) Develop a political system and local leaders

Yes, this is all in the "no-duh" department, but the US seems to be intent on not doing #1, but seems to be putting an effort into no.'s 2 & 3.
